With the highly-anticipated Ballon d’Or 2021 award show gradually approaching, the possible top 3 final nominees has been revealed.
The epic event is barely a week away as scheduled to take place on Monday, November 29, after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
The 2021 Ballon d’Or 30 men nominee list include the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandoski, Jorginho, Erling Haaland and more.
However, out of the 30-man list, the top 3 possible finalist are the following:
Lionel Messi (PSG/Argentina)
For the past decade, Lionel Messi has been an annual candidate for the prestigious award, having already won 6 of them.
In 2020/2021, the Argentine scored 38 goals, won the Copa America and Copa del Rey (at Barcelona).
Winning the Copa America with Argentina this year, which he failed to do couple of years back, could hand a huge opportunity for the 34-year-old to win his 7th award.
Robert Lewandoski (Bayern Munich/Poland)
Robert Lewandoski undeniably would have won the 2020 edition of Ballon d’Or after winning all six possible titles, but unfortunately, the award didn’t hold that year.
However, the Poland international had another sensational season at Bayern Munich last term, becoming the Bundesliga top scorer as well as winning the League title.
Jorginho has been at his best since last season, winning the Champions League, Euro 2020 and Super Cup. His impact for both club and country is undeniable.
The 29-year-old is a proven champion, he shut the mouth of doubters and critics by leading his team to winning campaigns with his national team and Club. Jorginho is a strong favorite for the 2021 Ballon d’Or.
