Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has finally been offered to become the next Everton manager, according to The Telegraph.
The former Chelsea player and manager impressed in his second interview with the club conducted earlier this week.
If Lampard agrees to replace sacked Rafael Benitez, he should be in charge of the team for the FA Cup tie against Brentford next Saturday as his first game at Goodison Park.
Lampard comes into a difficult situation at Everton who are just four points above the relegation zone even though they have a game in hand over 18th-placed Newcastle.
Then again, working under pressure is not something new for him after an 18-month spell at Chelsea that ended just over a year ago. He’ll hope to have learned the lessons of the previous job to succeed as a manager in the Premier League.
