Chelsea defender among Top 5 fastest players in Premier League [see ranking]

Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger has emerged the fastest player in the Premier League this season.

The Germany International beat competition from the likes of Mohamed Salah and Adama Traore to clock the fastest speed.

Rudiger has been in top form for the Blues this season despite the uncertainty on his future at the club.

The German has played 26 of Chelsea’s 28 Premier League games this season, keeping 12 clean sheets and scoring twice, as well as producing two assists.

But according to OptaJoe, Rudiger can certainly shift, having clocked the highest speed of the season during a clash against Brighton.

He knocked up a speed of 36.7km/h, a fraction quicker than Salah and Traore, who have been measured going at 36.6km/h.

And behind them is another Reds player, Ibrahima Konate who recorded a speed of 36.2 km/h.

Aston Villa striker, Ollie Watkins and Leicester forward, Patson Daka then make up the remainder of the list with a speed of 36.1 km/h.

Quickest players in the Premier League this season:

1. Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea) – 36.7 km/h

2. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – 36.6km/h

3. Adama Traore (Wolves) – 36.6 km/h.

4. Ibrahima Konate (Liverpool) – 36.2 km/h

5. Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) – 36.1 km/h

Chelsea to become richest sporting sale in history as Abramovich walks away

Chelsea’s sale price is expected to break the £3billion barrier, making the West London club the richest sale in sporting history, as Roman Abramovich walks away, The Athletic reports.

Chelsea’s sale has been overseen by the Raine Group, an American bank, and at least twenty offers have now been received after interested parties were given until last Friday to submit their bids.

Initially, there were fears the Blues would only collect around £2billion after Abramovich’s assets were frozen by the British government.

But given the overwhelming interest in buying the reigning Champions League holders, it is thought bidders will have to lodge an offer of more than £3billion.

Should that final offer stick, it would mean the Stamford Bridge club will collect the highest ever sum for a club in sports history – eclipsing the £2.5 billion that was spent on basketball team Brooklyn Nets by Joseph Tsai.

Meanwhile, the Raine Group has given a new timeline of when they hope to notify bidders of their decision over the takeover of Chelsea.
