Chelsea have joined the race for Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele.
According to L’Equipe, Chelsea are ‘pushing’ to sign Dembele as manager Thomas Tuchel is ‘keen’ to reunite with the Frenchman after they worked together at Borussia Dortmund.
Dembele’s contract expires at the end of the season and a number of European clubs, including Liverpool, have been linked with a move for the player.
Chelsea are now ‘at the front of the queue’.
Just yesterday, agent Moussa Sissoko, as contract talks rumble on, rapped Barca coach Xavi for calling up Dembele with no training preparation last week.
He told L’Equipe: “We talk many times about money when it comes to the renewal of Ousmane, but it is not only a question of money. Also of day-to-day management.
“This sports management with this return to play without training, just after covid, is what makes things really difficult for us.”
