Rudiger, Hazard, De Ligt, Saul & 15 more names in Chelsea latest transfer round-up

The winter transfer window is set to open in less than two weeks and here are the contract updates and list of players who we are likely going to welcome to the Stamford Bridge.

Contract updates

Antonio Rudiger: Everything is complicated with the Germany international who looks closer to leaving Chelsea on free agency than to signing a new deal.

However, the German international has admitted that he enjoys life at Chelsea and wants to stay. On the other, he is unhappy with the Blues’ offer and knows that he will earn much more money if he signs for Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG or United.

Thiago Silva: According to reliable tier-one reporter Fabrizio Romano, a new deal for the Brazilian is a matter of time.

Cesar Azpilicueta: Chelsea are said to be close to extending the captain’s deal. However, Marca reports that Azpilicueta is ‘tempted’ by ‘siren songs’ of La Liga sides, with Atletico and Barcelona credited with interest in the veteran defender.

Andreas Christensen: All set for the Dane to sign an extension, only his signature is missing, This is yet to be confirmed by any of the sides.

Potential arrivals

Aurelien Tchouameni: The Monaco midfielder has been linked with a move to Chelsea for quite a long time now. Earlier in December, Fabrizio Romano said the Blues are ‘leading the race’ for the Frenchman. A January move is unlikely though.

Attila Szalai: The 23-year-old centre-back could be heading to Chelsea, despite Fenerbahce denying they have an agreement with the Blues.

Eden Hazard: Reliable sources such as Marca have stated is that Madrid will try to offload Hazard, with several Premier League clubs interested. The problem is that Chelsea are not among these clubs. Additionally, Marca report that Eden does not want to leave the Bernabeu this winter.

Jules Kounde: Man United will try to get the Sevilla man in January, Spanish paper Diario Sport reports. Chelsea are still planning to sign Kounde in the summer but United’s activity may change their plans.

Bremer: Italian sources link Chelsea with an interest in the Torino defender.

Matthijs De Ligt: The centre-back’s agent Mino Raiola said De Ligt would like to leave Juventus and Italian papers have speculated about the Dutchman’s potential move to the Stamford Bridge.

Gavi: The Barcelona midfield sensation is available for €50m on release clause and Chelsea are tracking him, as per Spanish papers. It is stated that Gavi only has Barca on his mind at the moment.

Potential departures

Kepa Arrizabalaga: Lazio are occasionally linked with a move for the goalkeeper, with Sarri reportedly keen to reunite with the Spaniard.

Lewis Baker: The forgotten man is still at Chelsea, although Tuchel does not see him as a part of the squad: he was not even named on the bench against Wolves. A January move away is likely although papers have been calm about the 26-year-old.

Malang Sarr: The defender has barely played this season and when he did, he was far from convincing. Napoli and AC Milan are interested in taking him on loan, Italian sources report.

Ross Barkley: Burnley and Newcastle are said to be interested in a loan move for the Englishman.

Charly Musonda Jr.: The forward confirmed he’ll leave Chelsea in 2022 when his contract expires. Maybe he’ll try to get a move away in winter.

Saul Niguez: As per 90min, Chelsea are considering cutting short the midfielder’s loan. However, it doesn’t look likely at the moment.

Hakim Ziyech: The Moroccan is of interest to Barcelona. As per Fabrizio Romano, the Catalans see him as a ‘Plan B’ in case they fail to get Ferran Torres.

Timo Werner: Another Chelsea player linked with a move to Camp Nou. Catalonia-based Diario Sport says he wants more first-team football and therefore would be open to the idea of joining Xavi’s side. Man United is also interested with interim boss Ralf Rangnick pushing for the bid.
