Erik ten Hag recalls his meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson in an interview

Erik ten Hag revealed in an interview about how he had a meeting with Man United legend Sir Alex Ferguson in a previous visit to the Carrington training facility few years ago.

He said: “Steve and I visited Sir Alex Ferguson when we played Manchester City, the morning before the match we had coffee with him – it was a memorable conversation about football.

“When we visited, Sir Alex Ferguson was sitting in his office, he was the manager and he had an overview of the pitches at Carrington and he could follow the training sessions from his office, it was an experience.”

Ten Hag is currently the favorite to take over the Man United managerial role in the summer and could reunite with Sir Alex at Old Trafford in the near future.

Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell to be sacked amid Man United links

AS Monaco are all set to sack Paul Mitchell as their sporting director, top French outlet L’Equipe has reported.

This will leave him free to possibly join Manchester United after being spotted at an U18s game with Ralf Rangnick recently.

Mitchell built a solid reputation during his time at Southampton, establishing the Saints as a force to reckon with filled with promising talents.

He then spent time at Tottenham Hotspur and moved to RB Leizpig, where he briefly worked with Rangnick.

Mitchell worked with Monaco for the past 18 months and could be appointed United’s next sporting director if all goes to plan.
