Incoming Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has put up five Manchester United stars for sale.
The players are Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Anthony Martial, Alex Telles and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Ajax boss has been given the sum of £100-£150m to sign replacements, according to ESPN and this sum would not cover the additions he wants to make.
Manchester United is willing to listen to offers for five first-team players this summer after the Red Devils hierarchy told the Dutchman he can top up his transfer budget through player sales.
The Dutchman signed a three-year deal at Old Trafford last week and would not be needing the services of the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard. The contracts of these players expire at the end of this term.
Ten Hag is said to have already identified weak spots in the Manchester United squad and he wants to sign a centre-back, a right-back, at least one central midfielder and a striker to bolster the squad.
For this reason, he is willing to part with five players in order to top up his transfer budget, with United’s board willing to release all additional funds from player sales.
Ten Hag names one player he needs at Manchester United
Incoming Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has identified Ajax winger, Antony, as the player that will fix the Red Devils’ major problem next season.
According to the Sun, Ten Hag has already assessed Man United’s squad in terms of who needs to go and what areas they need to strengthen, and he has identified the right-wing as an area of priority ahead of next season.
Ten Hag wants to sign players that are accustomed to his style of play and Antony would fill a problem position that has caused Man United a headache for the last few years.
Recall that Man United signed Jadon Sancho from Dortmund last year to play on the right-wing position, but he’s mainly been used from the left, where Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard all prefer to operate.
Ten Hag, who is currently the coach of Ajax, is set to resume at the theatre of dreams after signing initial three-year deal with Man United.
The Dutchman has given his approval for Man United to sign the £50million rated Antony at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Man United have a good relationship with Ajax, having dealt with them for Daley Blind and Donny van de Beek in recent years.
