‘He does not fit my plans’, Xavi reacts as Laporta plans to sign Man Utd star

Barcelona president is not at ease with the new manager Xavi over his interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba’s contract with the Red Devil will expire next summer and there is no current deal extension on the table, it is either he leaves during the January transfer window or run down his deal and leave as a free agent at the end of his contract in June.

Okdiario’s chief football pundit Eduardo Inda, speaking on El Chiringuito, reports Laporta is eager to bring Pogba to Spain.

He revealed, “Joan Laporta and (sporting director) Mateu Alemany want to sign Pogba whatever.

“But there is a mess because Xavi Hernández does not see Pogba as a Barcelona player, who does not fit his style.

“Also, Pogba is making a net 15 million (euros a year) at United.”

Xavi is doing everything possible to revive the Catalan club and will not have above the table influence to disrupt his plans.

This is going to be a tough challenge for the club and the Spanish football manager who have already mapped out players to bid for, they need to find a balance before the January transfer window.
