Kante wins most reputable player award as Chelsea recieves global award

Chelsea Football Club and N’Golo Kante have both been honoured by the World Sport Organisation in the Football Reputation Awards.

Chelsea have been named as the Football Club with the Best Reputation for 2021. Kante was awarded the overwhelming winner of the Football Player with the Best Reputation 2021.

Chelseafc.com explains the process and the meaning of this award: “The independent, non-profit World Sport Organisation encourages global co-operation to promote the positive influence professional sport, and in particular those who compete in it, can have on humanity.

“As part of that goal, they hold the annual Football Reputation Awards to recognise the clubs and players who have led the way, setting an example by promoting a better world, and raise awareness of the potential for sport to influence positive change in society.

“All three awards are judged across 10 categories, including how people set a positive example for society, promote peace, sustainability and healthy living and oppose discrimination, inequality and poverty.”

Kante received 62% of the player votes with no other player crossing 17% of votes. He is one of six Chelsea players in the top 50 of the poll.

The Blues received 37 per cent of the votes in the club category and Marina Granovskaia accepted the award on behalf of the club.
