Frank Lampard gives update on Van de Beek after he limps off in Man City defeat

Speaking about the fitness levels of Donny van de Beek after he seemingly limped off during Everton’s 0-1 loss to Man City, Frank Lampard said: “We hope it’s cramp, that’s our hope.

“I don’t want to completely commit to that, but we hope it is. He said he felt like it wasn’t so bad. I thought he played really well, he put in a big shift.

“From him not playing many games to coming in and playing a few games for us, cramp is understandable. We just hope it’s not worse than that.”

Van de Beek put in a solid shift in midfield against the Premier League leaders, helping his side keep a sturdy shape.

This is how his numbers were in the first half and before he was subbed.

  • 89% middle third pass accuracy
  • 75% total pass accuracy
  • 29 total touches
  • 2 ball recoveries
  • 2 duels won
  • 2 tackles won
