Manchester United have added Spanish manager Luis Enrique to their managerial shortlist, claims ESPN.
The board appreciates Enrique because he possesses the technical credentials and track record of bringing success back to teams.
Enrique’s ability to maintain discipline in his squad and his attractive, attacking football style have impressed the United hierarchy.
The Spaniard joins Erik Ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino as the coaches being considered to become the next permanent manager.
Enrique had laughed off speculations linking him to United last November, claiming it was an April Fools’ joke, but the Red Devils believe they could attract him if desired.
Pochettino remains the favorite to take over the next United boss, with the players also reportedly preferring him to replace Ralf Rangnick.
