Man United forward Cavani close to joining new club [contract details revealed]

Manchester United top star, Edinson Cavani is close to joining a new club, Real Sociedad.

Cavani is on the verge of agreeing on a move to the LaLiga side this year.

The Uruguay international was a resounding success during his first season at Old Trafford, scoring 17 times after joining the Premier League giants on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Cavani has been ravaged by injury this season and many fans have questioned his commitment to the Red Devils.

His contract with Man United will expire at the end of the season and there is little appetite from either side for the former Napoli player to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

It had been widely expected that Cavani would return to South America, given his desire to be closer to his homeland.

Boca Juniors and River Plate both came close to signing the 35-year-old last summer, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer convinced him to stay put for another 12 months.

However, according to the Sun, Cavani wants to remain in Europe and is close to agreeing on a move to Real Sociedad.

‘Nothing left to win’: Paul Pogba reflects on ‘sad’ Man United season during France duty

“It’s hard to describe this season [with Manchester United],” explained Paul Pogba while speaking to Telefoot.

“Manager changes, injuries, nothing left to win… it’s sad.

“I go through difficult moments, especially in Manchester. The national team revitalizes me.”

The France international has also stated that he needed ‘a break’ from the Red Devils to regain his confidence.

Pogba started the season on a high and has also played regularly under Ralf Rangnick but like the rest of the team, he’s disappointed about not winning trophies for years.

Meanwhile, his future is as uncertain as ever, with the midfielder showing no inclination to sign a new deal.
