Man Utd boss Rangnick makes final decision on Greenwood

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has made his final decision on giving Mason Greenwood more minutes. He revealed that the 20-year-old must earn it.

Greenwood gave Fred the assist that led to the the winning goal against Crystal Palace – his first assist of the season in the league.

It adds to the four goals he mustered at the beginning of the season, but, while impressed by the maturity of the display, Rangnick insists he has to fight for his appearances by showing dedication on the training pitch.

“Mason [Greenwood] did so well at the start of the season,” said Rangnick.

“I think he scored three or four goals in the first three games, he’s a very gifted homegrown player and I would love to give him more game-time in the future.

“But, of course, he has to deserve his game-time in training and, therefore, it was good to have him on the bench and bring him on the pitch.”
