PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma won the Yashin trophy (best goalkeeper in the world) at the FIFA Awards over Edouard Mendy.
This was despite Mendy winning the Champions League and being arguably the best keeper in the world since his arrival at Chelsea.
Donnarumma, of course, helped Italy win the Euro 2020 and that tilted the votes in his favour. However, his national side was knocked out of the World Cup qualification stages by North Macedonia a few days ago.
Meanwhile, Mendy made a decisive save in the penalty shootout against Egypt last night to take Senegal to the World Cup.
A Chelsea fan’s tweet over the matter went viral on Twitter after this:
Goalkeeper. Edouard Mendy is going to the World Cup, Donnarumma is not. Yashin 🏆 pic.twitter.com/SRhi6ezy8Z— Jam (@Carefree_Jam) March 29, 2022
Edouard Mendy is going to the World Cup but you have to ask yourself where is Donnarumma going with his stolen Yashin Trophy.— MAH (@matissearmani) March 29, 2022
Well, karma does come for everyone!
Pulisic shows his aggressive side as he gets into fight with Panama players
Christian Pulisic scored a hattrick for the United States of America as they beat Panama 5-0 to almost confirm their participation in the World Cup.
However, during the end of the first half, there were some ugly scenes as Pulisic got into a fight with the opponents.
The attacker took things personally when he was shoulder tackled by a Panama player as he shoved him back:
Then, a bench player threw a football at Pulisic and the Chelsea man got angrier as a whole crowd had to hold him back.
