Man United caretaker boss, Michael Carrick, has confirmed that defender, Raphael Varane, will not feature when his side takes on Arsenal in Thursday’s Premier League tie at Old Trafford.
According to Carrick, the France international is currently rehabilitating in order to recover fully from injury.
The former England international stated this during his pre-match press conference on Wednesday ahead of the Chelsea clash.
Varane was hit with thigh injury against Atalanta in the Champions League last month.
The former Real Madrid defender was not available during Man United’s Premier League 1-1 draw with Chelsea last weekend.
“Yeah, Rapha’s rehab is going really well,” Carrick said.
“He’s out on the grass, but it won’t be any time this week by any stretch, it will be a little bit further than that, if not even longer.
“He’s on course [though], which is good.”
The kick-off time for Man United vs Arsenal is 9.15 pm.
