Mikael Silvestre explains why Ronaldo deserves to be Man Utd captain with 4 reasons

Mikael Silvestre has slammed critics who thinks that Cristiano Ronaldo is a ‘problem’ for Man United, former Red Devil star told Daily Star: “This comment about him being a problem is absolute rubbish. Look at the ratio of goals scored; chances created since the start of the season.

“He wants to help, wants to win trophies. He didn’t come to United to relax pre-retirement, it’s an even a bigger challenge than what he faced at his previous clubs.

“He left United after winning the Ballon D’or, winning the Premier League and being a top player. He knew there would be questions asked of him and what he can bring but he’s a leader.

“He doesn’t wear the armband, but he shows the way, and everything has been positive in what he’s done.”

Ronaldo has been one of United’s best players in what has been a topsy-turvy season so far, scoring 13 goals in all competitions and leading the goal tally at the club.

Cristiano is the captain of the Portugal national team, but United have opted to keep the armband on Harry Maguire who is not the captain of the England national team. Rangnick has refused to change things even after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure this season.
