OFFICIAL: Ed Woodward finally leaves Man United

It is official, Manchester United Executive Vice Chairman steps down after 9-years reign as board CEO.

As announced earlier by the club, Richard Arnold will succeed him and become the club’s new CEO going forward.

Woodward has gained a bad reputation over the year for his poor transfer business and inability to guide United to major trophies since Sir Alex Ferguson left.

He decided to step down after playing a major role in the Super League last year, but only left his position officially after the winter transfer deadline day.

United fans are understandably delighted to see Woodward leave, as they reacted on Reddit.

LordTrinity: “Tears in my eyes. Hopefully he never ever gets involved with the club again. Time to get a new flair.”

Molewart: “Specialist in failure.”

GambianSlange: “Thank god, what a f cancer this guy has been to this club because of his stubbornness and ego. Good riddance.”

Zlancex: “He leaves a pathetic legacy behind him.”
