Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe could end up at Real Madrid next season, according to the hints provided by the Manchester United midfielder.
Both players have refused to extend their contracts at Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, respectively, and would be free agents at the end of the current season.
Now, Pogba has welcomed the possibility of playing alongside compatriot, Mbappe at club level next season and that could be Real Madrid, who have shown interest in signing both stars.
The two Frenchmen are both set to leave Manchester United and PSG, respectively, with PSG frontman long linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Pogba’s future is rather harder to predict, with PSG, Juventus and Real all linked with a move – though a clear favourite for his signature has yet to emerge.
Pogba says he would welcome the opportunity to play alongside Mbappe at both international and club level.
Pogba was asked if he and Mbappe could be club teammates next season ahead of the 2022 World Cup, he told Le Figaro: “Why not? It’s always good to play with teammates for both the France national team and your club.”
Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial advised to leave Manchester United
Petit, a former French midfielder, wants his countrymen to leave Old Trafford in order to enjoy their footballing career elsewhere.
Pogba has not been doing well in the Manchester United squad since early November after sustaining an injury during the international break.
His performance in the few matches he has played this year has not been too wonderful, with Fred and McTominay gradually taking over the midfield.
Emmanuel Petit, has told ‘unhappy’ Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial to leave Manchester United without further delay.
Pogba is now in the final year of his current deal at Old Trafford and is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
About Martial who joined the Red Devils in 2015 and has gone on to play over 250 games for the Old Trafford landlords.
The France forward has now fallen down the pecking order in recent seasons at the club and he is currently on loan deal with Spanish club Sevilla.
“I believe the link is broken between Paul Pogba and Manchester United,” Petit told bookmakers.com.
“You can see in his body language that he is not happy, it is obvious.
“You don’t have to be an expert to understand that…It is time for him to leave the club.
“His future is just not at Manchester United. They also get no benefit out of a player that is clearly not motivated anymore either. Which means they need to find the best solution for both of them.”
Speaking on Martial, Petit added, “I understand that Anthony represents a value for the club, but he is not happy there.
“He shouldn’t come back to France though. When he left Monaco so young, to join one of the biggest clubs in the world and spend seven seasons there, it’s not all for returning to France straight afterwards.
“If I was MartiaI, I would make up my mind very quickly. There are links to Spanish clubs, he could go there. But I still believe he has a future in the Premier League.”
With Anthony Elanga, Marcus Rashford and Jason Sancho scoring for the Red Devils it will be difficult for Martial to reclaim his place in the squad.
