Ralf Rangnick address Man United fans and highlights season goals

Speaking to BT Sport on Tuesday, Ralf Rangnick said: “It’s now too early. We still have another nine games to play in the Premier League. We will try to finish off this season in the highest possible level.

“We want to qualify for the Champions League again and we’re fully aware that to do that we have to win most of those nine games.

“Right now to think about how we can close the gap to the top teams is too early. My focus is on finishing the highest possible level with this team then it is time to speak about other things.”

Manchester United are out of the Champions League following the 1–0 defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Round of 16 at Old Trafford (2–1 on aggregate).

The Red Devils will be back in action in April as they aim to finish the 2021/22 season on a high not and secure a top-4 finish in the Premier League.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS on Tuesday, Ralf Rangnick said: “I think the referee fell for most of those time-wasting antics.

“I can’t remember the game in the second half fir more than two or three minutes without being interrupted.

“There was always somebody lying on the floor. I would also say some curious refereeing decisions.

“I wouldn’t say they were decisive but at least he fell too often for those time-wasting antics and four minutes added on was a joke for me.

Manchester United suffered a 1–0 defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Round of 16 on Tuesday, crashing out of the Champions League (2–1 on aggregate).

A total of 26 fouls were called by Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic with the Red Devils committing 14 and Atletico 12. Both teams received two yellow cards.
