Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich heads to Poland to ‘act as negotiator’ between Putin and Biden.
The British government have heavily sanctioned Roman Abramovich and have made it impossible for him to work or visit the United Kingdom again.
However, the Chelsea owner is apparently doing some good work during this crisis period as he is set to ‘act as negotiator’ between Russian president Vladimir Putin and United States president Joe Biden.
According to local media reports, the 55-year-old billionaire took a train to Poland from Ukraine, where he was allegedly speaking with Ukraine president Volodymir Zelensky.
Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed earlier that Abramovich attended a first round of peace talks between the two sides in Belarus following Putin’s ruthless and unprovoked attack in Ukraine.
According to Polish media sources, Abramovich wants ‘peace as soon as possible’ and could be the intermediary if Putin decides to speak with Biden, who has not imposed heavy sanctions on Russia yet.
While Abramovich’s old connections with Putin are undeniable, it would seem that he is doing a lot of good so far over this crisis.
Keylor Navas shelters 30 Ukrainian refugees in Paris home
According to Diario Sport, PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas has set up a refugee room in his Paris home to accommodate 30 Ukrainians who have fled their country.
Vladimir Putin’s forces have intensified their attack on Ukraine in what is turning out to be one of the deadliest wars in years.
Navas has been part of the initiative to help Ukrainian refugees through a charity auction held by the Gypsy Association of the Barrio de Gràcia in Barcelona.
As a result, Navas and his wife have bought 30 beds, food and clothes for those sheltered in their home.
Meanwhile, Navas, 35, has played 21 times across competitions for PSG this term.
Russia is still destroying Ukrainian cities and killing civilians including kids with all the weapons imaginable. We strongly condemn Putin’s genocide and acts of terror against Ukraine.
