As per The Telegraph, a reliable source, Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent trip to Portugal was not approved by Manchester United.
Ralf Rangnick was ‘not aware’ that Ronaldo had left the United Kingdom but it’s not uncommon for players to visit family even if the club don’t formally sanction trips.
Ronaldo had no ‘obligation’ to be at the Etihad last weekend as he was injured.
The 37-year-old missed the 4-1 loss to Manchester City through a hip injury – even though contrasting reports have claimed otherwise.
Although Ronaldo trained separately on Tuesday, he missed Wednesday’s training session and could be ruled out of the Tottenham Hotspur clash this weekend.
