Reason Why Cristiano Ronaldo will not stay at Man United beyond this summer

Reporting via ESPN, Mark Ogden, a a fairly reliable source alleged that Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘not guaranteed’ to fulfill the final year in his Manchester United contract and could leave this summer.

The 36-year-old will reportedly wait till the new manager is finalized to make a decision about his future. ESPN understands that he could still opt to leave if he’s not part of the new manager’s plans.

Ronaldo, who turns 37 on Saturday, has scored 14 goals across competitions this term. Since his return, he’s been ‘alarmed’ at how the standards have dropped at the club after Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

Certain reports have also claimed that Ronaldo will leave if United don’t bag a Champions League spot next term.

Cristiano’s contract expires in 2023 but there is an option to extend it for another year.
