According to the Telegraph, Erik ten Hag is likely to bring in a Dutch coach with links to Man United if he takes over at Old Trafford.
The Ajax boss is likely to seek a fellow countryman who has a deep bond with the club and will include him in his coaching set-up.
Robin van Persie has emerged as a likely candidate if this happens. He is currently an assistant coach at PSV Eindhoven and also their U16 team’s co-head coach.
Former United defender Jaap Stam is another option as he has a few years of coaching under his belt and knows the club very well.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is another candidate for this role. He’s currently working as the PSV reserves team manager and has been involved with them for four years.
Ten Hag wants to set up a strong coaching staff that will help him implement his style perfectly at United and wants someone who knows what it takes to succeed with the club.
The 52-year-old manager remains the favorite to take over at Old Trafford after impressing in a recent interview, but the club are still likely to interview a few more candidates before making a final decision.

Ferdinand clearly doesn’t seem to have made any move to take up the assistant manager role and advise Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
The former United captain reportedly had interviewed for the director of football role in the past, but hasn’t voiced any desire to take up a coaching role.
