Thomas Tuchel reveals how Rangnick convinced him to become a manager

Thomas Tuchel has hinted that the new appointed Man United interim boss has been his mentor, adding that he motivated him to become a football manager.

When asked an interview ahead of the Premier League game between the Blues and Red Devils, what he thinks about the new United manager. Tuchel said: “Yes, tactically for sure he [Rangnick] is an elite manager.”

“He helped me a lot because he was my coach. And then he was one of the main figures to convince me to try coaching.

“He was a huge influence on all of us at this time because he showed us it’s not important to follow people to the toilet in games, people felt defenders followed the strikers in games.

“Before I get carried away and talk too much, he isn’t appointed yet. So let’s respect everybody.”

Clearly, Rangnick is regarded as a mentor for Tuchel as well as other top German coaches such as Jurgen Klopp and Julian Nagelsmann.
